Founded by Giuseppe Venneri, Volatile Ag produces detailed reports from images collected by drone to assist local farmers in the year-round maintenance of their crops.

Our vision is to become, by far, the preferred agricultural survey provider for local farmers in the Columbia River Gorge. We work with experienced local crop advisors, herbalists, and agronomists to constantly fine tune and improve the quality of our service. We believe that by providing farmers with a faster and more cost-effective way to assess their crop throughout the year, they will be better positioned to make time sensitive decisions that will impact their yield and bottom line.

Giuseppe Venneri has over a decade of experience as a drone pilot/instructor, mechanical and flight test engineer in data acquisition, analysis, and reporting from aerial platforms. He has worked at Insitu, Aerovel, and the Sierra Nevada Corporation, leading flight test programs, teaching foreign students, and supporting the development of new drones and sensors. He is a deep advocate for autonomous systems and the services they can provide to communities like the Columbia River Gorge. He got his mechanical and aerospace engineering master's degree from UC Irvine and he's an instrument and commercially rated pilot. He has enjoyed many breath-taking flights in and around the Gorge. His family recently started a small vineyard in Southern Italy where they are now growing primitivo and negroamaro.
